As a result, project benefits have reached over 8000 people against a project target of 5000 with women being over 50% of beneficiaries. Some interventions, such as improved cook stoves and Mahua flower collection nets, have reduced forest degradation, contributed to reduction of drudgery and also helped improve household level 5/22/2023 Page 1 of 6 Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report India Ecosystems Service Improvement Project (P133803) livelihoods. The two carbon flux towers installed under the project are now reporting data on measuring carbon sequestration leading to near real time measurement of key ecosystem services. The outcomes of the project are enhanced ecosystem services, including increased biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, water security and land productivity, which are critical factors in better adaption and resilience to climate change.
