The Project Development Objective for this five-year operation is to contribute to increased food security, market access and the adoption of climate-smart approaches by targeted project beneficiaries. The Project will finance: (a) Rural Community Organizations in their implementation of food security, nutrition enhancement, and vulnerability- reduction interventions; (b) Rural Producer Organizations in their implementation of competitive and climate-resilient agribusiness plans; and (c) complementary productive infrastructure to increase logistics efficiency for greater market access. Key expected outcomes of the Project include: (a) increased food security; agricultural production and productivity; market access; resilience; and incomes for participating RCO and RPO; and (b) a climate-smart, competitive, sustainable and inclusive agriculture sector. The Project is expected to directly benefit over 127,000 rural producers, of whom at least 30 percent would be women. 5/19/2023 Page 1 of 9 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Innovation for Resilient Food Systems (Alianzas Rurales - PAR III) Project (P175672) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance Substantial Substantial Substantial Macroeconomic Substantial Substantial Substantial Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program Moderate Moderate Moderate Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Moderate Moderate Moderate Sustainability Fiduciary Moderate Moderate Moderate Environment and Social Substantial Substantial Substantial Stakeholders Moderate Moderate Moderate Other -- -- -- Overall Substantial Substantial Substantial Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes Contribute to adoption of climate-smart approaches by and increased market access for beneficiaries IN01288145 ►Land area under sustainable landscape management practices (Hectare(Ha), Corporate) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 117,855.00 Date 01-Feb-2023 04-Nov-2022 05-May-2023 31-Aug-2027 The indicator measures, in hectares, the land area for which new and/or improved sustainable landscape management practices have been introduced. Land is the terrestrial biologically productive system comprising soil, vegetation, and the associated ecological and hydrological processes; Adoption refers to change of practice or change in the use of a technology promoted or introduced by the project; Comments: Sustainable landscape management (SLM) practices refers to a combination of at least two technologies and approaches to increase land quality and restore degraded lands for example, agronomic, vegetative, structural, and management measures that, applied as a combination, increase the connectivity between protected areas, forest land, rangeland, and agriculture land.
