KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The Project has made progress on: (i) the preparation of the bidding process for civil works for the Tang Krasang and Stoung subprojects; the contracts are expected to be signed in May and July 2024, respectively (under Component 1); and (ii) the installation of secondary and tertiary sewer pipes (90.3 percent completed) and the procurement (the bids were published on March 25th) of construction of secondary and tertiary sewer networks, pumping stations, and household connections in the North-East and North-West Zone in Siem Reap City (under Component 2). Progress has also been observed on: (i) the implementation of Behavior Chang Communication (BCC); and (ii) the Utilities of the Future (UoF) support. In regard to BCC, the consultancy firm was mobilized in early 2024 and the inception report is being prepared. On the UoF support, the ignition week was conducted for the Stoung-Tang Krasang water utility in November 2023 to help identify areas for utility performance improvement following the merging of the two separate utilities. In 2023, the Siem Reap Sewerage and Wastewater Treatment Plant Unit (SR-SWTPU) completed the implementation of its short-term action plan to help simplify the billing process. A hand-over of the UoF certificate to the SR-SWTPU was held on March 25, 2024 to recognize the achievement. 5.
