To date, the physical progress of the works is at 54% (compared to the targeted 100%). The delay resulted from the delocalization of the utilities, which by the current date have been resolved and are currently being finished, delays in the procurement and implementation of key elements such as the central pipeline (already completed) or the asphalt plant, lack of definition of the quarries, and Comments: disagreements between de PIU, the supervisor and the contractor, which have been resolved during these past months. Moreover, due to the social crisis that Peru has experienced since December 2022, the supply of materials has been interrupted by road closures, which has hindered the normal progress of the work. Currently the main issues that may keep this delay are the final definition of the quarries to be used and the delays in material supply. The works are delayed and estimated to be completed by May 2024.
