Regional and municipal governments, as well as civil society representatives, consider the construction of the Vía Expresa as a priority and have been very supportive of the Project. This project will improve travel time savings in the east- west corridor of Cusco Provincial Municipality. Progress of Vía Expresa works stands at around 75% at the end of January 2024. Asphalt paving started in mid-December 2023, with first layer 47% paved and second layer 9% paved. Other remaining works are advancing well in various work fronts. Component 2: Improving mobility in the Provincial Municipality of Cusco. This component will support future investment to improve accessibility to employment opportunities by public transport in the area of influence of the east-west corridor of Cusco Provincial Municipality. The delegation of authority agreement that authorizes implementation of Component 2 activities has been signed.
