In particular, activities to improve the capacity of civil society organizations and support implementation of reconstruction and resilience sub-projects at the community level have continued to be implemented with evolving and steady progress and have registered strong results on the ground. By December 31, 2023, the project had implemented six rounds of grants with strong results on the ground. One more call for grants application will be made to sum up seven rounds of grants that were envisaged at project appraisal. As of today, 52 local CSOs have benefitted from grants and 77 subprojects were approved and are under implementation with an implementation completion rate of 62 percent. About 88 percent of CSOs participating in the project reported improved capacity for grant management and implementation; and the number of direct beneficiaries of the project had reached 8,507 people with a 100 percent expressing satisfaction that the sub-projects reflected their needs. The increased uptake of subprojects and CSOs in rounds five and six and what is envisaged in the final round 7 will continue to improve disbursement toward full utilization of the project resources.
