The Project reached over 600,000 poor pregnant women and mothers of children under five, motivating their regular participation in key services for their children’s nutrition and cognitive development, and supporting their households with quarterly cash transfers. Cumulative disbursement under the Project is US$ 212 million (95%), of which approximately US$188 million was paid out as cash transfers to beneficiaries through their Bangladesh Post Office cash cards. Beneficiaries report that this support improved their decision-making abilities within the household and enabled them to purchase nutritious food and invest in livelihood assets. Based on the Government’s request for continued support to the early years agenda, the World Bank is preparing the Bangladesh Enhancing Investments and Benefits for Early Years (BEIBEY) project. The proposed project would also be implemented by Local Government Division (LGD) with the objective of strengthening local delivery platforms for increased access to services that contribute to early childhood agenda. 6/21/2022 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Income Support Program for the Poorest (P146520) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance -- Moderate Moderate Macroeconomic -- Low Low Sector Strategies and Policies -- Low Low Technical Design of Project or Program -- Moderate Moderate Institutional Capacity for Implementation and -- Moderate Moderate Sustainability Fiduciary -- Moderate Moderate Environment and Social -- Substantial Substantial Stakeholders -- Low Low Other -- Moderate Moderate Overall -- Moderate Moderate Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes Provide income support to the poorest mothers in selected Upazilas and enhancing local govt capacity IN01151623 ►Beneficiaries of Safety Nets programs (number) (Number, Corporate) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 600,007.00 600,007.00 400,000.00 Date 01-Dec-2014 30-Jun-2021 02-Jun-2022 15-Jun-2022 IN01151624 Beneficiaries of Safety Nets programs - Conditional cash transfers (number) (Number, Custom Breakdown) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 600,007.00 600,007.00 400,000.00 Date 01-Dec-2014 30-Jun-2021 02-Jun-2022 15-Jun-2022 IN01151625 Beneficiaries of Safety Nets programs - Female (number) (Number, Custom Breakdown) 6/21/2022 Page 2 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Income Support Program for the Poorest (P146520) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 600,007.00 600,007.00 400,000.00 Date 01-Dec-2014 30-Jun-2021 02-Jun-2022 15-Jun-2022 IN01151666 ►Proportion of eligible households in the bottom two expenditure quintiles of the NHD that are enrolled as beneficiaries (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 75.00 75.00 70.00 Date 01-Dec-2014 30-Jun-2021 02-Jun-2022 15-Jun-2022 Although a new verification survey was not carried out, findings from previous surveys suggest that with the criteria and verification process followed under the program, up to 75 percent of enrolled beneficiaries Comments: belong to the bottom 40 percent based on their poverty score.
